GTA 6 pre-load: when and how
GTA 6 pre-load opens on 12 November 2026, a week before launch. Here is what is known and what is not.
Date
Rockstar has given the date: 12 November for digital pre-orders. The boxed version also contains a download code, so once the code is redeemed it can be downloaded early too.
Time
The announcement gave no time of day. Rockstar Support is reported to say downloads open at local midnight in your store region. This is not confirmed in an official post, so check the game's store page on the evening of 11 November.
Size
Rockstar has not stated the file size. Figures online are guesses. Free up plenty of space and leave the console in rest mode so the download runs on its own.
If the download doesn't start
Make sure the pre-order is on the same account as the console and that the account region matches the store you bought from. You can start the download manually from your game library.
