Map size
How big is the GTA 6 map: no official figure, our estimate from the GTADB community map.
What Rockstar says
Rockstar North's Aaron Garbut said the map is about twice the size of GTA 5's, with an order of magnitude more interiors. Edge magazine puts the landmass at about 166 km². Rockstar has not published an exact figure or the map itself.
How we measured
We took the open GTADB community map tiles, where one pixel equals one metre at the most detailed level, and counted land pixels within the island. That gives about 83 km² of land and roughly 12.9 by 17.7 km at the extremes. The community reconstructed the scale and outline from trailers and screenshots, Our figure is half the one Edge reports, so the community map is likely incomplete or its scale underestimated.
After launch
Right after 19 November we will measure the map in the game itself and update this page. Open the map →
